Today I have a big delivery to do with eighty-five watermelons to a store. I was driving safely when suddenly my radio cracks alive “Justin, Justin, are you there?”
“Yes, what’s wrong?” I reply.
“I got an incoming message that you are heading toward a flood, a big one you need to pull over and we will…”
The radio ended. Great just great, I am stuck in a flood in the middle of nowhere with lots of watermelon and now my GPS is not working. What am I going to do? I try to keep moving but the flood was high and the weight of the watermelons is too much to carry so I empty out some of the watermelons and keep driving. A powerful wind comes over and knocks me away and I pass out. Later, I wake up I am in a hospital with my boss standing over me
“ How are you feeling?” he asks.
“ Good, but what happened?”
“You passed out for awhile, the police found you and got you to the hospital.” He replies but I don’t hear him because I fall asleep.
I like your word choice and how you told a short story in few words. I liked when the sentence ended right in the middle, it was suspenseful.
ReplyDeleteWhere did this story idea come from? Is there a connection that you have with liking watermelons? PS I like watermelon in the summer only!
